Wise Science Tutoring Policies

Let's face it; policies are needed. We aren't super strict about the cancellation and rescheduling policies. They are only enforced if when it is necessary. So we put them here in writing, so there is no misunderstanding down the road. 

We strictly enforce our privacy policy, which is located at the end of this page. 

Refund and Cancellation Policy

These policies sound super strict, but we only enforce them if we need to. We understand that life happens, and as long as you contact us and keep us in the loop, there won’t be any problems with canceling or rescheduling an appointment. By making an appointment with Wise Science Tutoring, you agree to these policies.


Cancellation by Client/student:

For a full refund to be issued, the client/student must cancel a tutoring session at least 24 hours before the appointment time. Tutoring sessions canceled the same day of appointments will be charged 25% of the hourly rate.


Rescheduling by client/student:

There will be 24 hours of advanced notice, or if the client/student wants to move an appointment on the same day to a different time slot, and one is available, there will be no charge to reschedule an appointment. However, clients/students rescheduling the day of appointments and not moving to a different time slot on that day will be charged a $25 fee. Rescheduled sessions must be arranged to take place within 7 days. No call/no show clients/students who do not cancel or reschedule will be charged the full amount for their session.


Cancellation or Reschedule by Tutor/Wise Science Tutoring:

If a tutor has to cancel or reschedule, the client/student will be given the option to reschedule or will be refunded in full. If possible, tutors will attempt to give at least 24 hours prior notice of cancellation to the client/student.


Late Arrival:

No adjustment to fees will be made for time lost because of late arrivals. Client/students who arrive late will only be tutored for the remainder of the scheduled session. If a tutor arrives late to an appointment, the client/student will be compensated accordingly by extending a session based upon the amount of time lost at the discretion and agreement of both parties.


No Show:

Client/students who are more than 15 minutes late to their appointments are considered no shows. If a client/student is a no show, they are still responsible for the full payment amount for the tutoring session. No discounts or refunds will be given.

3 or More Missed Sessions:

If a client/student has 3 or more cancellations, no-shows, or late arrivals within a 2 month period, the client/student will have to pay an additional $25 convenience fee on top of the regular tutoring fee to schedule any further tutoring sessions.
